Kemerdekaan Sarawak......

Sarawak was under Brunei Sultanate dalam abad yang ke 16 and Sarawak was divided into district governed by PANGERANS.,the representatives of the sultan of Brunei.
Pada awal abad yang ke 17 berlaku pemberontakan yang berpunca daripada kepincangangan pentadbiran dan ketidakpuasan hati kpd sistem pencukaian.

Perjuangan kemerdekaan Sarawak bermula sejak pemberontakan keaatas Kesultanan Brunei.Wakil Sultan Brunei dalam tahun 1839,Pangeran Muda Hashim telah meminta pertolongan Pengembara English yang bernama James Brooke.

Following James Brooke's success in thwarting the insurgency,he was appointed the governor of Sarawak on 24th september 1841.

James Brooke merupakan the first "RAJAH OF SARAWAK"..(1846 to 1868),when Sarawak gained independence from Brunei.Charles Brooke succeded James Brooke and Sarawak came under British Rule and a British adviser was appointed in 1888.

1941...Sarawak was under Japanese invasion.
With the Japanese surrender at the end of world war 11,Sarawak was placed under British Military Administration till 1946 when it became a British Crown Colony.
Sir Charles Arden was appointed as the first Governor.

ERA MALAYSIA....

.....the formation of the Federation of Malaysia comprising the MALAY FEDERATED STATES ,SINGAPORE,SABAH, SARAWAK AND BRUNEI was proposed in 1961 by YM TUANKU ABDUL RAHMAN AL HAJ.Pada awal penubuhan Malaysia terdapat sedikit penentangan dari rakyat -rakyat negeri sabah dan sarawak termasuk brunei.
Cobbold commision was set up to seek the views of the people regarding the proposal.

FINDINGS......70% favoured the FORMATION OF MALAYSIA. This prompted Britain to announce the FORMATION OF MALAYSIA on 31ST AUGUST 1963....INSPITE STRONG OPPOSITION FROM INDONESIA AND PHILLIPINES. The second inquiry also reported that the people generally favoured the formation of Malaysia...this lead to official declaration of the formation of Malaysia on 16th september 1963.

Kat surat khabar di Sarawak dan percakapan di kedai kopi dan surau banyak mempertikai Kemerdekaan Malaysia ke 44 atau 5o.

Saya fikir hari kemerdekaan memang patut ke 50(kemerdekaan federated of malay states) .......Hari Malaysia sepatutnya 44 tahun. HARI MERDEKA DAN HARI MALAYSIA ADALAH DUA HARI YANG BERBEZA...

Ada yang argue ...memberi contoh independence day of America...Hawai pun turut merayai hari yang sama tanpa banyak soal......sedangkan hawai joined USA sangat lambat.

After all...soal ini REMEH TEMEH SAJA......yang pentingnya PENGISIAN DAN PENGERTIAN HARI MERDEKA ITU SENDIRI......Are we really merdeka?
