Abu Hurairah r.a berkata, Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang maksudnya: “ Sesiapa bersedekah seberat biji kurma dari usaha yang baik, dan tidak naik (sampai) kepada Allah melainkan yang baik, maka sesungguhnya Allah menyambutnya dengan tangan kanan-Nya. Kemudian Allah memelihara sedekah itu untuk pemiliknya, sebagaimana seorang kamu memelihara anak-anak kudanya sehingga menjadilah sedekah itu setinggi gunung.” (al-Bukhari dan Muslim) Huraian Pemberian itu merangkumi sedekah dan hadiah. Jika pemberian itu dimaksudkan sebagai satu cara untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah, maka ia dinamakan sedekah, tetapi jika ia dimaksudkan sebagai satu penghargaan, sanjungan dan tanda kasih maka ia dinamakan hadiah. It’s great when life is filled with sounds, colors, activity and excitement. It’s even better when all that activity of living is grounded in real and meaningful purpose. Expressions An expression of love can be beautiful and moving, yet an expression of love is not love itself. Expressing your intentions, your goals, your hopes and dreams can be powerful and inspiring. Yet the expression alone is not enough. The fulfillment of those intentions, or those hopes and dreams, requires commitment, sacrifice and persistent effort. Love is more than saying “I love you.” Accomplishment is more than saying “I’m going to.” Caring is more than saying “I care.” No matter how profound the expression, it must be backed up, and followed up, with real and effective action if it is to truly be meaningful. The best way to make a statement is to make a difference. The best way to show your intention is by doing what you intend to do. If you really want to express your hopes, then work to make them a reality. The most meaningful expressions are not what you say or how you appear. True expressions are in what you take the time and effort to do.

It takes strength to be polite to someone when that person has been rude to you. It takes strength to be truthful when a lie would be more convenient. It takes strength to build for the future. It takes strength to resist temptations and distractions. It takes strength to do what is right. It takes strength to make an effort when it would be easier to make up an excuse. It takes strength to do what must be done when the work is unpleasant and uncomfortable. It takes strength to persist in the face of obstacles, when it would be much easier to simply give up. It takes strength to do all these things. And all the while, these are the very things that build even more strength. Be truthful, do what you know is right, put forth effort when it is called for, persist, and the more you do so, the more easily you’ll be able to do so. Exercise your strength, and you’ll surely grow stronger, more capable, and successful in each endeavor.
