Mat: Its not about money...tapi is it necessary?.....atau why u have to spend so much on the phone...kereta pulak modified sana sini...with sound system nya beribu ringgit...
Kaderi: itulah style...serupa jugak bila u beli kereta mewah...jam berjenama....baju berjenama ...life style bah!
Mat:...macam org perempuan jugak...beli emas sebesar "sauh Kapal"....berkilo-kilo....semuanya ni nak menunjuk-nunjuk....siapa lebih kaya ...sapa lebih banyak emas dan sebagai.....nak kan supaya orang respek kat dia orang...

Apa itu lifestyle...how it is different from life?
......Dia orang cakap..."biar pape asal bergaye".
Lifestyle is about ...brand name...and membeli identiti atau membeli prestige.
Yang tak bestnye....lifestyle ni...gives a false sense of peace.....and acceptabilty that comes from others recognising what you have bought....
Kalu anda mempunyai kereta mewah....baju yang mahal berjenama dan mempunyai rumah yang besar dan mewah ...you are sophisticated dan stylish.
Begitu juga...kalau anda mempunyai right kind of job or go to the right social gathering...atau menyertai kelompok "elite"...then you receive the SUPERFICIAL APPROVAL OF OTHERS........
INI BERMAKNA YOUR SELF ESTEEM IS ALWAYS AT THE MERCY OF OTHERS....WITH NO APPRECIATION OF YOU AS INDIVIDUAL.......
So what is life then?
...A life is what you lead when you know what matters most to you.....it is very simple...it comes from being connected to what you know is important and being willing to put that first...tak kisah apa yang orang lain akan kata....
YOUR SELF ESTEEM COMES FROM WHAT'S INSIDE YOU...NOT WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT YOU...
Lifestyle is expensive monetarily and personally.....bcos it costs a great deal to keep up appearance and do what you think is socially acceptable.
Kalau lah kita memfokus an what we wear,....what car we drive....where we live...then we are saying that how others see us is more important than what we we think of ourselves.....

Yes..you are right....this is not an issue of avoiding luxury for its own sake;its about LIBERATING YOUSELF FROM THE MINDLESS COMSUMPTION THAT SOCIETY DICTATES.....IT IS ABOUT MEMBUAT DAN MEMILIH CHOICES THAT ARE IN LINE DAN SEPADAN WITH YOUR VALUES.

My nephews work in a bank. Dia orang kata yang pakai smart2 masuk bank untuk keluarkan duit. Yang pakai T-shirt Pagoda, berseluar pendek dan berselipar Jepun selalunya nak deposit duit, not in the hundreds but in the thousands, sometimes hundred thousands.
And don't underestimate the budak pejabat. I know of a few who may not earn as much as an executive but surely have savings more than their superiors.
